What we do for Chicago teams

Seven services, one senior team

Everything between an idea and a product people trust. Designed, built, launched and branded.

MVP Development

The first working version of your product: scoped, designed, built and launched in six to ten weeks. Small enough to ship fast, solid enough to build the next version on.

UI/UX Design Services

Design capacity for products that already exist. Flows, screens, states and design systems, including the unglamorous screens that decide whether anyone stays past week one.

SaaS Website Design

A SaaS site has one job: make a stranger understand the product in eight seconds and book a call in thirty. Built in Webflow or Framer so your team can edit it.

Design services that scale

From a first audit to a product that grows

01

UX audit

A review of the screens costing you the most: where sign-ups stall, where support tickets start, and what to fix first. Often the right first step before a redesign.

02

User research

Interviews and usability tests with the people who use the product, booked in UK hours, so decisions rest on evidence rather than the loudest opinion in the room.

03

UI/UX strategy

Which problems to solve first, which screens they touch and what success looks like, agreed in writing before design starts.

04

Wireframes and prototypes

Clickable flows you can put in front of users and investors in days, so the expensive decisions are tested before they are built.

05

Scaling support

A design system, documented components and a team that stays on after launch, so every new feature looks like it belongs.

Building for Chicago

What a product for Chicago has to get right.

Illinois's Biometric Information Privacy Act covers fingerprints, voiceprints and scans of hand or face geometry. A company must first tell people in writing what is collected, why and for how long, and receive a written release. Time clocks, door access and fingerprint sign-in are designed with that notice and release before anything is captured.

World Business Chicago, the city's economic development agency, calls Chicago the nation's transportation and logistics hub, with rail, warehousing and digital freight tech among its growing parts. Dispatch tools stay open all shift, so the late load is the first thing on screen.

The City of Chicago says it aims to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA by 26 April 2027, a standard the US Department of Justice requires, and its statement covers digital content a vendor makes on the City's behalf. Every screen we make is designed and tested to WCAG 2.2 AA, which also meets the 2.1 level.

1871 runs innovation labs for fintech, insurtech, food tech, health tech and supply chain, and mHUB is a center for hardtech, the physical technologies. A demo for an insurer or a plant manager has to speak that trade at once.

What we design

Products we design for Chicago teams

Industries

Sectors Chicago builds in

  • 01

    Freight and last-mile logistics

A dispatcher watches many loads at once, so the late one has to show first.

    • Status at a glance, across every shipment
    • Dense tables that stay readable
    • Keyboard-fast for people who use it all day
  • 02

    Insurance and fintech

Insurance asks for detail at a stressful moment, so each form must feel short.

    • Onboarding and identity checks that keep people moving
    • Disclosures that are clear, not buried
    • Balances and risk made readable
  • 03

    Food and manufacturing

A supervisor reads a screen between tasks, so a stopped line shows from across the room.

    • Interfaces that hold up on the factory floor
    • Alarms and states nobody can miss
    • Data from many machines in one view
  • 04

    Life sciences and health

Lab and clinic tools serve specialists who notice every extra step.

    • Flows tested with real users, not assumed
    • Accessible type, contrast and controls
    • Sensitive data handled with care in the design
  • 05

    Public services and civic tech

City and transit tools reach every kind of resident, so each screen has to work for all.

    • Plain language for every reader
    • Accessible on any device
    • Forms that check as you go, not at the end
  • 06

    Climate and energy tech

Energy dashboards hold years of readings, so the page must say what changed.

    • Complex data turned into clear choices
    • Charts people can read at a glance
    • Reports that stand up to scrutiny

Why Usarion

Why Chicago teams choose us

  1. Decided at night, done by morning

Dhaka is 12 hours ahead of Chicago in winter and 11 in summer. What you decide in the evening is worked on overnight, and you read the result with your first coffee.

  2. Two dates move the gap

Chicago's clocks go forward on the second Sunday of March and back on the first Sunday of November. Dhaka's do not move, so the gap shifts by one hour on those two dates.

  3. Inside your tools

Your Slack, your Figma, your repository. We join the way your team already works.

  4. One team, start to finish

The people on your first call are the people who design and build it. Nothing is handed on.

  5. Design and code together

We design the screens and ship the code behind them, so nothing is lost between the two.

  6. Proven across 200+ projects

Brand, product and web work shipped across SaaS, AI, fintech, healthcare and ecommerce.

How we work

Four steps, from brief to hand-off

  1. Step 01

    Discover

    Understand before drawing.

    • We read your deck, analytics and support tickets
    • One working session on what a good outcome looks like
    • Two to three days, not two to three weeks
  2. Step 02

    Plan

    Agree the scope in writing.

    • Screens listed and sequence set
    • Price fixed before work starts
    • A plan you can hold us to
  3. Step 03

    Design

Design where you can see it.

    • Work lands in Figma as it happens
    • You comment, we iterate the same week
    • Nothing unveiled at the end
  4. Step 04

    Hand off

    Built to be picked up.

    • Named layers and real components
    • Documented tokens and a walkthrough
    • Development by the same team, if you want it

FAQs

Questions from Chicago teams

User experience, interface design, mobile app design and the build, from one senior team in Dhaka, 12 hours ahead of Chicago in winter and 11 in summer.

Yes. The notice, the purpose and length of use, and the written release are screens people pass through before anything is captured. Your legal adviser signs off the wording.

Yes: loads and exceptions in one view, tables that stay readable on a long shift, and simple controls for drivers on the road.

Yes. Screens are designed and tested to WCAG 2.2 AA, which also covers the 2.1 AA level the City aims for. Your team confirms the contract's accessibility terms.

Yes: quote and claim forms that feel short, clear disclosures and status screens people can follow. Your compliance team owns the rules.

Yes: line screens that show a stoppage at once, lab tools built around the specialist's routine, and reports a plant manager reads in a minute.

With a 30-minute call, then a written scope and a fixed price. Once the scope is signed, work starts within days, not weeks.

Each project is quoted once, from a written scope, and the price does not move unless the scope does.

Yes. We keep what works, audit what does not, and move the product forward in stages so your users are never left behind.

Yes. Front end and integrations, by the team that designed it. If you have developers we hand over instead, with a system they can build from.

Yes, and it is often the cheapest way to start. A short audit tells you which three screens are costing you the most, and whether you need a redesign or just a fix.
